Tencel is as soft as silk. This natural synthetic fiber is made from wood pulp from eucalyptus trees and other deciduous trees. These trees grow in specially cultivated forests managed in compliance with FSC standards for responsible forestry. Certain lands, unsuitable for agriculture due to low fertility, are used for growing these sustainable eucalyptus trees. This ensures optimal land utilization. It also makes the extraction of the lyocell fiber more sustainable compared to other wood fibers, which often rely on endangered tree species.

The only area for improvement in production is the relatively high energy consumption. Fortunately, there are many significant advantages: During tree cultivation and production, both water and chemicals are captured and reused. This closed-loop system ensures that lyocell or Tencel fabric is completely free of chemical residues. The material is skin-friendly and biodegradable.
